Before turning to the field of intellectual property, Alexander Laub studied physics (with a PhD thesis on superconducting electronics). Starting in the year 1998 as a trainee in a well-renowned Munich-seated firm, he obtained experience in IP firms seated in Munich and Nuremberg. Alexander H. Laub is well-experienced in handling IP matters for small and medium sized entities as well as for companies which are global players.

In the year 2015, he opened his own IP firm.
